After travelling to Kizil-Kiya by car, we turn left into the Maidan valley. Then driving past villages on the way, we reach the place where the Kalb river crosses the road.
You can either hike into the Bant valley along the river, or drive for 11 km to the jailoo by 4-wheel drive. A shepherd with his donkey, waiting to haul your packs, guarantees you a pleasant walk up to the jailoo.
Tasting the spring at Bant Suu is a most refreshing experience– locals think it has healing power and contains healthy minerals. You will enjoy the pleasant view of forested hills on both sides. Plus a wide green valley- home for grazing horses, a clear stream running through the meadows, quiet, unspoiled nature – What more could one want for a relaxing, peaceful rest.
This trip is ideal for a weekend outing, but also can be done in a full day with the reward of experiencing the "Switzerland of Central Asia”. Also, it's possible to hike up to the pass at 3500 m, or rent 2-3 horses to ride. Let us know what you would like!
